Join Barclays as the Head of SAR Escalation team VP, where you’ll be part of a wider team dedicated to combating financial crime, protecting our clients and the broader U.S. financial system. The Head of SAR Escalation team VP will have management and oversight of various AML processes including managing a team of investigators responsible for reviewing manual AML alerts and drafting suspicious activity reports (SAR) on behalf of Barclays Bank Delaware. The candidate will work closely with AML team leaders, overseeing the management of day-to-day activities and will also be responsible for planning and executing processes related to managing volumes and workflows in accordance with service level agreements, managing internal controls and supporting internal and external BSA/AML audits and examinations.

To be successful as a Head of SAR Escalation Team VP, you should have:

  • Experience in Credit Cards, Risk & Control, Compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, Anti-Money Laundering and /or Lending

  • Extensive investigative experience and strong issue spotting skills to appropriately identify need for SAR filing 

  • Management experience ideally with AML Transaction Monitoring team

  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Degree in Business, Accounting, Management, Finance, Criminal Justice, Fraud Prevention, or Homeland Security

  • Juris Doctor (JD) / Law experience or background

  • Relevant professional certifications: ACAMS or CRCM

  • Prior OFAC/AML transaction monitoring responsibilities & compliance

This role is based in Wilmington, DE and Whippany, NJ offices.

Salary for Whippany, NJ:

Minimum Salary: $155,000

Maximum Salary: $200,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To support business areas with day-to-day processing, reviewing, reporting, trading and issue resolution. 

Accountabilities

  • Support various business areas with day-to-day initiatives including processing, reviewing, reporting, trading, and issue resolution.
  • Collaboration with teams across the bank to align and integrate operational processes.
  • Identification of areas for improvement and providing recommendations in operational processes.
  • Development and implementation of operational procedures and controls to mitigate risks and maintain operational efficiency.
  • Development of reports and presentations on operational performance and communicate findings to internal senior stakeholders.
  • Identification of industry trends and developments to implement best practice in banking operations.
  • Participation in projects and initiatives to improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
