Get to know Lauren, one of our Human Resources Analysts and learn how Human Resources is full of opportunities to grow and succeed

Evolving. Encouraging. Collaborative These are words I’d use to describe Barclays.

I value the ability to make positive change above all else. The world is facing some monumental challenges, and the impact that finance can have on this is phenomenal. Knowing I can support a company who are helping businesses and customers around the world, in areas from preventing fraud to tackling climate change, is very important to me.

Why HR? I love seeing how people interact and build relationships, and the impact this has on a business. Any organisation’s output is the sum of its people and how they work together – understanding how this is coordinated in HR has been incredibly insightful.

My current team looks after the learning that’s available to everyone across Barclays. It’s a hugely important service as it ensures colleagues are skilled on a vast range of topics. And it makes me feel proud that what we do helps people develop their knowledge and perform their roles with more confidence.

A project I remember fondly was when I helped to develop female talent at Vice-President level in various departments across the Chief Operating Office. The initiative ran four quarterly events focusing on different topics, ranging from mental health to CV workshops and interview skills. The feedback we had from participants was overwhelmingly positive and I loved being a part of it all. Seeing many of the women who took part get promoted was fantastic.
