The Asian Professionals Resource Group embraces all employees and creates an awareness of Asian culture and diversity, empowering colleagues and shifting beliefs around stereotypes.

The Asian Professionals Resource Group provides all employees with support and opportunities for professional and personal development, to celebrate Asian culture and to create an ERG which fosters community involvement.

The group’s objective is to create a fun and supportive atmosphere with the vision that supports growth of each colleague to shine.

Our Strategy

As part of the new global Employee Resource Group strategy, the key focus for our ERG is to champion the benefits of diversity at Barclays, whilst sharing the lived experiences and nuances of our diverse colleagues at Barclays. As we sharpen the focus on Diversity at Barclays, the ERG strategy will focus on four main pillars (Attract, Retain, Develop and Engage).

Attract

The actions we are taking to attract:

• Be the voice of Asian colleagues at Barclays​
• Be at the forefront of group DE&I discussions, such as diverse hiring practices  ​
• Ensure we have a membership reach across the UK and broader​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Retain

Building a great & diverse place to work​​​​​​​​​​​​​​:

• Support colleague wellbeing for Asian colleagues and allies ​
• Break down barriers and tackle stigmas
• Commit to listening to our members and driving change​​​​

Develop

Developing colleagues with multiple dimensions of difference:

• Inspire colleagues to achieve their potential through providing the right support, programs and networks to help members develop their careers​
• Provide coaching and sponsorship opportunities​
• Provide mentoring opportunities ​

Engage

Connect with business leads to explore collaboration opportunities:​​​​​

• Drive engagement across business units and DE&I forums, encouraging efficiency and collaboration ​
• Work closely with our business liaison teams to create interlinks and promote the colleague voice ​
• Continue to collaborate with faith forums ​
• Review ways to collaborate externally.​
