About the role

Barclays Technology is the power behind our global operations and it is here in the Chief Security office that we conceive of, design and develop technological solutions that protect millions of customers and clients against the growing threats from cybercrime. You will play a pivotal part in changing and enhancing our technology.

What to expect

After your initial training, you will gain a unique insight into how we protect our millions of customers against 21st century threats. As well as learning from our team’s expertise, you’ll start to build your own knowledge, taking on real challenges and responsibilities early on, including working with business areas to gather requirements, and managing large change projects. This is your opportunity to play your part in developing future innovations that really matter.

How you’ll develop

You’ll be surprised by what you can achieve. From beginning to end, we’ll do everything in our power to make sure you get the very most from your internship.

We’ll surround you with challenging projects and opportunities to grow and learn. We’ll keep you motivated with encouragement, feedback and support as you build your leadership skills, technical know-how and business acumen. We’ll help you connect with mentors, and network with colleagues and senior leaders alike. You’ll get the chance to give back to the community through volunteer events. And if you really impress us, this could be the beginning of an incredible career. We invite top-performing interns to join us as full-time analysts after graduation.

Who thrives here

We welcome people of any educational background, but you should have a passion for technology. You’ll be curious and creative, adaptable and analytical. You’ll be great at communicating and collaborating – motivated by pace and pressure and driven to achieve and search for the best solution. You’ll also be ready to develop a deep understanding of what we do, why we do it, and how your role impacts on our business outcomes. These are qualities that people at Barclays have in abundance, and we’ll help you develop and strengthen them from the day you arrive.

What to expect

We’ll give you real-world, complex problems to solve, whether that means writing code to optimize our systems or developing intuitive user interfaces for new applications.
