Title: Director, Head of CALM India
We are creating a new director level role in the Treasury Capital and Leverage Management (CALM) team based in India which will be functionally responsible for the CALM team based in India as well as responsible for the production of capital forecasting and analytics. The role will sit on the Head of CALM’s management team to provide direct connectively across regions and report to the Head of Capital Planning and Stress testing in undertaking responsibilities relating to capital planning and stress testing. The role will also form apart of the India Treasury Leadership and contribute to the growth and development initiatives for the wider India Treasury team.
Specific responsibilities:
Responsible functionally for the CALM India team including line management of India based members of the capital regulation and subsidiary management and ICAAP and ILAAP teamsResponsible for production and analysis of capital plans including:
- End-to-end production of all capital plans (outlook, MTP, IST, BCST) for Group and SSEs
- End-to-end production of regulatory reporting and internal reporting including monitoring of all capital metrics including double leverage, for Group and SSEs
- Back-testing of plans, variance analysis, and management information covering the key drivers of changes in metrics
- Ensuring controls around production are appropriately designed and operated and that systems are appropriately developed and maintained at all times
- Delivering process improvements across capital planning (including management actions)
- Sensitivity analysis to support an understanding of our vulnerabilities, the accuracy of our forecasting, and the setting of risk appetite
- Establish and maintain a bottom up process for collation of risks and opportunities from input owners and aggregate/categorise these
- Maintenance of process, procedure, and control documentation as it relates to relevant parts of the capital management framework and standards
Purpose of the role
To optimise the bank's capital structure to support its growth objectives, manage risk exposure, and comply with regulatory requirements by analysis of bank's capital position, development of capital allocation strategies, and ensuring that the bank maintains adequate capital levels under various economic scenarios.
Accountabilities
- Development and implementation of strategies to manage the bank's capital position, including setting of capital targets, development of capital plans, and monitoring of capital adequacy.
- Optimisation of the bank's capital structure to support the bank's growth and profitability objectives, including management of the bank's exposure to regulatory capital requirements.
- Allocation of capital to business units and projects based on risk-adjusted returns and other financial metrics.
- Preparation and provision of regular reports on the bank's capital position, capital allocation decisions, and stress testing results to senior colleagues, risk committees, and regulatory authorities, and effective communication of capital management strategies and risk considerations to relevant stakeholders.
