Join Barclays as AVP - Models Centre of Excellence, this role involves joining the Data & Systems - OBI team, where you will be responsible for ensuring data/system readiness, process transformation, and handling reporting and submission-related activities.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Comfortable working to tight production calendars, and delivering accurate outputs with minimal rework.

  • String analytical capability to review, explain and challenge results — able to perform projection/output analysis, investigate drivers, and support sensitivity / root-cause style deep-dives as part of the execution and review cycle.

  • Clear and structured communication.

  • Automation / efficiency orientation — demonstrated interest in reducing manual effort and improving stability/consistency in calculations through better tooling, repeatable checks, and process enhancements.

  • Hands-on comfort with execution toolchains & data handling — familiarity with pulling inputs, preparing datasets, and loading outputs into standard templates/systems used in forecasting processes.

  • Working knowledge of Python, SQL or Alteryx.

This role is based out of Gurugram/Chennai.

Purpose of the role

To develop strategic infrastructure requirements, onboard current model suite & new quantitative model methodologies, redevelop models based on monitoring, IVU feedback and business changes and perform validation process. 

Accountabilities

  • Delivery of advanced model analytics, improve stability and bring consistency in calculation approach.
  • Leading technical engagements with QA and IVU for strategic redevelopment project on behalf of FTC.
  • Provision of model execution, output analysis and lifecycle management capabilities across use cases for both forecasting and BAU models.
  • Implementation of process improvements though enhanced controls, automation and improved analytics.
  • Delivery of advanced model analytics (Recalibration, Sensitivity, root cause analysis etc.).
  • Controls and testing:  Addressing execution issues with IT and QA, Perform UAT as part of model product ionisation.
  • Cataloguing of issues, potential improvement for model redevelopment, authoring technical documentation with QA.
