As a Senior Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing AI solutions that drive innovation and efficiency within the organization. You will work closely with AI Architects, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists to build scalable AI systems and applications.

You will have extensive knowledge of GenAI code generation, testing, reviews, agentic flows, and development process streamlining. This role involves providing technical leadership and support across migration activities, whilst providing tooling oversight and support. You'll work across migration products, delivery, and engineering, spanning all cloud platforms and products.

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • Programming and Software Engineering skills – Develop and maintain AI models and algorithms using programming languages such as Python, R, Java, and C++, applying software engineering principles including distributed computing, time-frequency analysis, UNIX tools, and advanced signal processing techniques.  
  • Machine Learning and AI Fundamentals – Solid knowledge of algorithms (supervised/unsupervised learning, neural networks), model evaluation, code transformation, and data schema conversion; Code Transformation and Refactoring; Data Transformation and Schema Conversion; Automated Test Case Generation.
  • Data Handling and Analysis experience – Ability to work with large datasets, data preprocessing, feature engineering, and use of libraries.

Additional skills include:

  • Automation and Tooling Management – Expertise in tooling selection, Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and CI/CD implementation.
  • Cloud and Deployment Knowledge – Familiarity with deploying AI models using cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) or MLOps tools; Cloud architecture expertise; understanding of application migration (full stack) architecture.
  • Problem-Solving and Communication skills – Ability to translate real-world problems into AI solutions and clearly explain results to technical and non-technical stakeholders, and manage technical planning and implementation.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
