­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Overall purpose of role

To lead all digital services teams across the UK and India supporting the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) agenda and set the strategic direction. Accountable for driving business and client value delivering key strategic initiatives across our digital strategy, our pivot towards a customer journey led approach and unlocking high quality business capabilities used by customers, clients and colleagues.

Key Accountabilities

  • Overall accountability for improving client digital experiences required to grow client satisfaction and client adoption of our digital channels
  • Development of strategic direction for the Global Transaction Bank digital portfolio, including the implementation of strategies delivering market-leading digital propositions to our global client base, and developing modern ways of working across all teams supporting the digital agenda to deliver high quality client outcomes at pace
  • Management of the Global Transaction Bank digital portfolio, including development of a team of digital professionals with expertise in digital product ownership and other relevant disciplines, oversight of their performance, implementation of clear goals and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness
  • Monitoring the financial performance of the digital portfolio, including revenue, profitability, and cost control.
  • Relationship management of the Global Transaction Bank digital portfolio stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third party services throughout the development process
  • Alignment of Propositional and Commercial outcomes to the wider Business Agenda and Strategy and ratifies the Benefits Cases from both a cost to deliver and achievability perspective
  • Prioritisation and management of the digital backlog of requirements both at Journey/capability level and within the scope of the defined Projects/Releases
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures for the Global Transaction Bank digital portfolio, including risk management (identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the bank’s digital portfolio and compliance functions) and digital governance and procedures
  • Analysis of the bank's current digital landscape, identify key digital assets and gaps, and develop a roadmap for future digital initiatives

Purpose of the role

To manage a specific product or portfolio and set the strategic direction. Provide support to the bank's senior management team, and to manage product development risk across the organisation. 

Accountabilities

  • Development of strategic direction for a specific product or portfolio, including the implementation of up to date methodologies and processes.
  • Management of a specific product or portfolio, including oversight of colleagues and their performance, implementation of departmental goals and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness.  .
  • Relationship management of specific product or portfolio stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third party services.
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures for the specific product or portfolio.
  • Management of specific product or portfolio risk, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the bank’s specific product or portfolio and compliance functions.  .
  • Monitoring the financial performance of the specific product or portfolio, including revenue, profitability, and cost control.
  • Conducting thorough market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.

  • Exercise management authority to make significant / complex business and strategic decisions that impact the Barclays Group, business division or function.
  • Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally and foster growth for Barclays business.
  • Mandated as the business division/ functional spokesperson or representative to external bodies and shapes the public image of Barclays.
  • Demonstrate exceptional knowledge of how business divisions and functions integrate with the Group to achieve the overall business objectives alongside industry theories and practices within own discipline.
  • Maintain broad and comprehensive functional expertise and significant product knowledge.
  • Accountable for the control and governance agenda of the business division / function.
  • Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays.
