Private Banking Executive Manager | Barclays | Fixed Term Contract | London

As a Private Banking Executive Manager (PBE Manager), you will lead a team of Private Banking Executives to deliver strong commercial outcomes, effective risk management, and exceptional client service. The team supports UK and internationally focused High Net Worth (HNW), Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients.

You will play a key role in driving the Private Bank’s strategy, leading the delivery of strategic initiatives, and ensuring the business continues to operate efficiently, safely, and with the client at the centre. You will act as the senior escalation point for complex client, operational, and risk-related issues, supporting PBEs, Private Bankers, and senior leadership. This requires a deep understanding of the end-to-end client journey, spanning multiple systems, teams, and processes.

Using your experience and judgement, you will proactively engage, influence, and negotiate with stakeholders across the Private Bank to resolve issues effectively, improve client outcomes, and support commercial objectives—while maintaining a strong focus on risk, controls, and regulatory compliance. You will also identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.

You will lead and develop your team to perform in a highly regulated and evolving environment, ensuring they are appropriately supervised, supported, and equipped to meet regulatory and business expectations. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills will be essential, as you adapt your approach across a wide range of scenarios and audiences.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong understanding of Private Banking products, including investments, banking, credit, and wealth planning
  • Proven people leadership experience, with a track record of developing individuals to reach their full potential
  • Sound knowledge of banking operations and procedures, with the ability to make effective risk-based decisions
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships internally and externally
  • Technically capable, with strong PC skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Understanding of the Private Banking client base and key service delivery teams
  • Knowledge of risk and control frameworks and their practical application


This role is based in London.

Purpose of the role

To manage relationship support initiatives and set the strategic direction. Provide support to the bank's senior management team, and to manage relationship support risk across the organisation. 

Accountabilities

  • Development of strategic direction for relationship support, including the implementation of up to date methodologies and processes.
  • Management of relationship support initiatives, including oversight of colleagues and their performance, implementation of departmental goals and objectives, oversight of department efficiency and effectiveness.  .
  • Relationship management of relationship support stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of external third party services.
  • Development and implementation of policies and procedures for relationship support.
  • Management of relationship support risk, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the bank’s relationship support and compliance functions.  .
  • Monitoring the financial performance of relationship support teams, including revenue, profitability, and cost control.
  • Conducting thorough market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.
