Explore locationJoin us as a Sanctions Advisory AVP for 12 Month Secondment within the Sanctions Advisory Team Corporate Bank in London.
You will be responsible for supporting the Sanctions function to drive the effective delivery, oversight, and risk management of the Sanctions Policy for the respective aligned business. Your role will involve assessing and reviewing sanction risks in respect of areas such as sanctions related controls, customer and transactional sanctions alerts, deal escalations received direct from the business, and KYC referrals with an identified or potential sanctions nexus.
To be successful as a Sanctions Advisory AVP, you should have experience with;
Understanding of financial crime or sanctions laws, regulations, regulatory expectations and industry best practice
Sound judgement and the ability and confidence to make business critical decisions
Self-confidence to articulate opinions in the face of contrary views, where necessary
Some other highly valued skills may include:
A background in sanctions or financial crime
Experience working with the Investment Bank and Investment Bank products and services or experience working with the Corporate Bank and Corporate Bank products and services
A qualification related to compliance such as ICA or ACAMS
Note that this is a 12-Month FTC located in London with 3 anchor days Mondays, Tuesdays & Wednesdays.

Purpose of the role
To identify and conduct the appropriate analysis and due diligence on Sanctions alerts to ensure the appropriate action is taken against customers and payment activity as defined by the Sanctions Standards and Restricted Activity Matrix, ensuring that the organisation adheres to all applicable sanction’s laws and regulations and internal governance, such that client accounts are not held and transactions are not processed in breach of application laws and regulations.
