Join us as a Senior Product Manager where you will have an opportunity to shape and drive the delivery of joined-up payments propositions to support key client use-cases such as the retail collections and the payment of vendors.

Barclays Global Transaction Banking has an excellent set of payment capabilities, and these are critical to our clients’ operations.  We seek individuals who will help build propositions through collaboration and ideation resulting in the business growth for both Barclays and our clients.  We provide clients with a full range of effective and market-leading cash management solutions, covering all the major payments and collections products to support their needs. Within Cash & Cheque product, we manage propositions that supply and collect physical cash for our clients, as well as solutions through which our clients can issue and clear cheques.

Our goal is to design, build and manage products on an end-to-end basis that generate sustainable returns by helping clients to achieve their business ambitions in the right way. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of payments and experience in propositional design and development, including features, pricing, processes, controls and performance measurement.  As a Senior Product Manager, you will scan the marketplace and listen to the voice of the customer through direct client engagement and in close collaboration with client-facing teams.

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Proven track record of owning and delivering product propositions and cross function initiatives.
  • Experience identifying and implementing improvements to processes and/or products and services.
  • Commercial acumen and understanding of income and cost drivers for payments solutions.
  • Understanding of Corporate client needs and drivers to ensure we deliver solutions that delight our customers.
  • Robust analytical capability, with a problem-solving mindset

Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications include:

  • Experience of product management in a financial services organisation
  • Basic knowledge of the full range of business disciplines e.g. Compliance, Operations, Service, Sales, Marketing, IT, Finance, HR, and Risk.
  • Broad understanding of product lifecycle discipline
  • Awareness of products and services available across financial services and, specifically, in the area of payments.

Purpose of the role

To develop and manage the success of specific financial products and services, providing in-depth expertise on a particular product line, bridging the gap between product development, marketing, sales, and customer service. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance.
  • Identification of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings.
  • Response to customer inquiries, resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage.  .
  • Presentation of the advantages and features of the product to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption.
  • Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as brochures, presentations, and online content.
  • Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Participation in events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.
