What will you be doing?

Barclays Capital Inc. seeks Director Fixed Income Financing Trading Quant in New York, New York (multiple positions available):

  • Manage the design and maintenance of user interfaces and data visualization reports to present large-scale data and model outputs clearly to traders, sales teams, and other stakeholders.

  • Supervise a team that supports enhanced model transparency, daily trading operations, and regulatory metric monitoring (e.g., Balance Sheet, RWA, CCLF).

  • Lead quant strategy and model adaptation for the SEC’s UST repo central clearing mandate. Support central cleared repo workflows and margin methodologies. Model and optimize liquidity, balance sheet and RWA impacts.

  • Partner with Treasury and Resource Management Group (RMG) responsible for capital and funding management and collateral management strategists aligning funding.

  • Manage US Rates Financing desk unsecured funding: source funding, optimize cost and manage WAM (Weight Average Maturity).

  • Collaborate with Tech and Quantitative teams globally to develop and refine auto pricing, hedging and algo trading for Fixed-Income Repo products using programming languages including C++, Python, SQL, etc., beyond routine desk support.

  • Work closely with senior traders to drive strategic initiatives and deliver outcomes. Lead and collaborate with Technology, Product and other teams to ensure seamless cross-platform integration (Linux or Window) and deployment of solutions.

  • Lead new quantitative analysis initiatives, from ideation to prototype development, leveraging diverse time series data sources to deliver innovative financial models.

  • Partner with technology to build scalable, real-time data and analytics platforms, build connections to various external and internal systems. Ensure integration with trade capture, pricing, margin engines, and regulatory reporting systems.

  • Supervise a team of Fixed Income Financing Quantitative Analysts that provides front office infrastructure support by maintaining and managing analytical libraries critical to trading and risk functions.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $298,854 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $328,740 per year

Purpose of the role

To execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments and staying informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions. 

Accountabilities

  • Execution of buy and sell orders or pricing of liquidity in various financial instruments while adhering to the bank's trading strategies and risk parameters.
  • Monitoring and analysis of global financial markets, economic indicators, news, and geopolitical events to identify trading opportunities and assess market risks.
  • Management and monitoring of the risk associated with the trading portfolio and ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal risk management guidelines.
  • Collaboration with research analysts and other teams to gather insights and information for trading decisions.

  • Foster and guide compliance, ensure regulations are observed that relevant processes in place to facilitate adherence.
  • Focus on the external environment, regulators, or advocacy groups to both monitor and influence on behalf of Barclays, when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of how the function integrates with the business division / Group to achieve the overall business objectives.
  • Maintain broad and comprehensive knowledge of industry theories and practices within own discipline alongside up-to-date relevant sector / functional knowledge, and insight into external market developments / initiatives.
  • Use interpretative thinking and advanced analytical skills to solve problems and design solutions in often complex/ sensitive situations.
  • Exercise management authority to make significant decisions and certain strategic decisions or recommendations within own area.
  • Negotiate with and influence stakeholders at a senior level both internally and externally.
  • Act as principal contact point for key clients and counterparts in other functions/ businesses divisions.
  • Mandated as a spokesperson for the function and business division.
