Explore locationJoin Barclays as a Leveraged Loan Desk VP. At Barclays, our vision is clear –to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. You will serve as a key point of contact between the trading desk and the buy-side community, delivering deep credit insights and real-time market feedback. In this role, you will maintain primary coverage of loan-only credits, developing financial models, and monitoring earnings to identify early credit risks. You will collaborate closely with traders, sales, syndicate, and legal teams to support positioning, new issue participation, and private credit opportunities. You will also deliver timely updates, teach-ins, and actionable intelligence to internal stakeholders. A focus is placed on engagement with portfolio managers and analysts to identify trends, build trust, and support P&L generation.
To be successful as a Leveraged Loan Desk VP, you should have:
Advanced credit analysis and financial modeling
A deep understanding of leveraged loan documentation and credit agreements
Familiarity with earnings review and interpretation processes
Knowledge of primary and secondary loan market mechanics
Series 7, 63 and proficiency in Bloomberg, Excel, and loan market data platforms such as LevFin Insights

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with buy-side clients
Organizational skills to guide multiple credits and deadlines
Strategic thinking to identify investment opportunities and risks
High attention to detail in earnings review and credit documentation
Collaborative mindset for cross-functional coordination with traders, legal, and syndicate

This role is located in our New York, NY office.
This role is FINRA regulated.
Minimum Salary: $150,000
Maximum Salary: $250,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

To execute trades and manage risk within a defined portfolio of financial instruments and staying informed about market trends and developments to make informed trading decisions.
