Join us as an Electronic Trading Quant Researcher. At Barclays, our vision is clear –to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. You will play a crucial role in developing our electronic algorithms for principal trading of FX Swap and FX Outright instruments. Working with a team of researchers and developers you will analyze data, develop and calibrate models and algorithms and implement those improvements in the production system.
To be successful as an Electronic Trading Quant Researcher, you will have experience in:
- Statistical analysis of time series financial data to gain insights and build models
- Development of electronic trading algorithms
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in a quantitative, mathematical or scientific discipline
- Coding in a shared codebase
Some other highly valued skills may include:
- Knowledge of Python, R or kdb languages for research
- Knowledge of JAVA, C++ or equivalent for algo implementation
- Ability to effectively communicate research ideas and results to others through well written reports as well as appropriate use of data visualization
- Knowledge of statistical and machine learning methods for predictive models
- Knowledge of financial market structure

Minimum Salary: $155,000
Maximum Salary: $250,000

Purpose of the role
To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities.
Accountabilities
- Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimize trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets.
- Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions.
- In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics.
- Provide front office infrastructure support though ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries.
- Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment.
