Join us as a Global Lending Group Analyst at Barclays, where you will support committee coordination of Investment Grade and Non-Investment Grade Relationship Lending. You will also support activities within Portfolio Management and Wholesale Lending/Global Lending Group. There will be a focus on optimization of capital allocation and returns, credit/lending processes and associated controls. Additionally, you will provide close partnership with Coverage, Portfolio Management, Syndicate, Debt Capital Markets (“DCM”), Leveraged Finance (“Lev Fin”), Credit Risk, and Wholesale Lending Operations (“Loan Operations”) to structure, negotiate and execute on all lending activity across CIB Americas.  Lending activity includes all bilateral and syndicated transactions and will range from event-driven financings (Financial sponsor transactions, Corporate mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, Management buy-outs) to core, regular way financings and refinancing for our clients.

To be successful as a Global Lending Group Analyst, you should have experience with:

  • Coordinating Investment Grade Relationship Lending Capital Commitment Committee (“CCC”) and Leverage Finance CCC (“LFCCC”) meetings including scheduling, attending Committees and leading the tracking/documenting/reporting of transactions for approval

  • Supporting Committee members and Senior Management with deal related queries and related matters

  • Coordinating with Coverage, Product groups, Credit Risk, Corporate Bank and Portfolio Management to collate and assemble the integrated Loan Approval memo; noting that GLG is accountable for the integrity and overall quality of the Loan memo

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Experience in corporate banking, investment banking, portfolio management and/or credit risk

  • Series 79 & 63

  • Ample influence and negotiation skills

  • Attention to detail, great communication skills and self-starter

This role is located in New York.

This role is regulated by FINRA.

Minimum Salary: $110,000

Maximum Salary: $125,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To support with the management of the relationship lending portfolio for the Investment Bank (IB) with the primary goal of maximizing the return on equity of the loan portfolio and associated business cases.   

Accountabilities

  • Work in partnership with Banking and Markets to evaluate needs of our corporate clients, whilst ensuring optimal value generation for our shareholders.   .
  • Manage/support with managing one or more portfolios of loan exposures within designated markets/industries, including acting as gatekeeper and voting member within the firm's capital commitment process.  .
  • Perform primary diligence and assist in structuring/negotiating terms for new capital commitments.  .
  • Monitor credits on an ongoing basis and structure/approve amendments.
  • Manage loan sale and CDS hedging trade recommendations.   .
