Embark on a transformative journey with Barclays as a US Payroll Manager VP. In this role, you will inspire and lead our professional Americas payroll and tax teams, striving to always ensure we provide a best-in-class service that meets the needs of our Americas-based colleagues (US, Canada, & Brazil) a service that is accurate, timely, compliant and resilient. You will be responsible for compensation approaches as they relate to payroll, and country-to-country mover and business travel related taxation and payment requirements.

To be successful as a US Payroll Manager VP, you should have experience with:

  • Leading Americas Payroll teams in large (>5,000 colleagues on payroll) and multi-faceted organizations, preferably within a financial services organization

  • Payroll legislation, tax, financial and regulatory controls, governance, risk management and HR policy, to include IRS/CRA requirements and other important payroll submissions

  • Demonstrated experience in payroll systems including ADP, EV6, and Workday, leveraging these platforms to streamline payroll operations, ensure compliance, and enhance reporting accuracy across organizational structures

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formula creation, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation, and automation through macros to support detailed payroll analysis and reporting

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) qualified or equivalent knowledge of Sarbanes Oxley and typical internal audit requirements

  • Experience in Agile project management, driving cross-functional collaboration, iterative delivery, and continuous improvement to enhance payroll system implementations and process optimization

  • Demonstrated proficiency in leveraging payroll and HR technologies to streamline operations, enhance data accuracy, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements

This role is located in the New York, NY office.

Minimum Salary: $110,000

Maximum Salary: $190,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To manage payroll functions, including calculating employee pay, withholding taxes, and any other deductions, as well as maintaining accurate payroll records for the business. 

Accountabilities

  • Processing of payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees, calculating tax and other contributions, withholding, and paying out as appropriate.
  • Employee payroll record administration and troubleshooting.
  • Guidance and support to employees on all payroll matters, including queries related to calculations of salaries and wages, overtime, bonuses, and commissions.
  • Compliance related statutory filings including the management of the reply to Government institution notices related to all Statutory obligations.
  • Payroll statutory reporting and filing including liaison with relevant local tax authorities.
