Internal Funds Platform Manager (12m FTC) | Barclays | London.
The Internal Funds Platform Manager will support the management and development of the Barclays Asset Management fund range within the Private Bank and Wealth Management platform. The role focuses on the governance, positioning, and strategic development of internally manufactured investment funds, ensuring the product range remains competitive, compliant, and aligned with broader investment propositions across discretionary, advisory, and portfolio management offerings.
Working across a broad range of initiatives, the role combines product oversight, regulatory compliance, and strategic project delivery. The successful candidate will collaborate with investment teams, product structuring, legal, compliance, marketing, and digital teams to support the ongoing development, distribution, and commercial success of the funds platform across multiple client segments including affluent and high net worth investors.
The role requires strong stakeholder management across a global organisation, as well as the ability to manage complex product initiatives and regulatory responsibilities within the asset management and private banking environment.
Key Accountabilities:
- Support the ongoing management and strategic positioning of the Barclays Asset Management fund range, ensuring alignment with the broader investment proposition.
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to assess product positioning relative to comparable fund offerings across the market.
- Partner with Portfolio Management and Investment Advisory teams to optimise the use of funds within discretionary portfolio management, advisory services, and multi-asset investment solutions.
- Collaborate with product structuring, legal, and compliance teams to ensure adherence to cross-jurisdictional regulatory requirements.
- Oversee key regulatory obligations relating to funds, including Assessment of Value and Consumer Duty requirements.
- Support the design and delivery of strategic product initiatives, including share class design, pricing strategy, and product enhancements.
- Coordinate with Change and delivery teams to implement product and platform improvements.
- Work alongside Global Advisory proposition teams to embed Barclays Asset Management funds within advisory investment propositions.
- Support the commercial oversight of the funds platform, including share class pricing considerations, cost allocation, and financial performance monitoring.
- Partner with marketing teams to design and support strategies that promote the growth of Barclays Asset Management funds across the Private Bank and Wealth Management client base.
- Collaborate with Digital Proposition teams to develop portfolio insights and tools that support enhanced client engagement.
- Work with innovation and fintech partners to explore new distribution channels and embedded investment solutions for the funds platform.
- Manage relationships with internal stakeholders and external service providers supporting fund operations, including administrators and platform partners.
Essential Criteria:
- Knowledge of cross-asset investment strategies within fund management product offerings.
- Experience supporting strategic product design, development, or delivery within a fund management or investment products environment.
- Understanding of investment propositions across digital, affluent, and high net worth investor segments.
- Knowledge of cross-jurisdictional regulatory environments relating to fund management products.
- Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder networks within a global organisation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience working directly with investment funds or fund platforms within asset management, private banking, or wealth management.
- Understanding of the competitive landscape for UK or international fund management products.
- Strong technical skills, including Excel, VBA, or Macros.
- Professional investment qualifications such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst), Investment Management Certificate (IMC), or a relevant postgraduate degree.
- Self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for business improvement and innovation.

Accountabilities
- Provision of SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks and compliance.
- Identification of market trends, new features, regulatory requirements and potential risks, and analysis of data obtained from sales figures and, customer feedback, to support the product development process, and communicate key findings to relevant stakeholders to improve product offerings.
- Response to customer inquiries, resolution of issues, and provision of guidance on product usage. .
- Presentation of the advantages and features of the product to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption.
- Assistance with the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as brochures, presentations, and online content.
- Participation in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and other stakeholders.
- Participation in events, conferences, and other networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.
