To be successful in this role as a Senior Mortgage Underwriter , you should possess the following skillsets:

  • Prior experience in manual Mortgage Underwriting in a bank or related industry.
  • A general understanding of the regulatory framework that applies to lending operations and the risk function.
  • Experience in credit decision systems i.e. Experian and Trans Union.
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Regulation / Legislation Awareness - Knowledge of the Regulated Financial Services environment.

Some other highly valued skills include:

  • CA or MBA (CFA/FRM added advantage).

This role is based in our Noida office

Purpose of the role

To evaluate the creditworthiness of existing and potential mortgage borrowers and making lending decisions based on established guidelines and risk management principles.

Accountabilities

  • Identification of potential red flags and discrepancies in the application that may indicate fraud or credit risk.
  • Analysis of loan applications, including income verification, employment history, credit reports, asset valuation, and property details.
  • Assessment of the borrower's financial situation and ability to repay the loan using various financial tools and risk assessment models.
