Join Barclays as a API Developer. You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. The role holder will be responsible for working with Product Owners, Developers and other parties to deliver the technical implementations to fulfil the Product Vision. The role holder will be joining a high performing team in the Digital business areas. The successful candidate should have agile change implementation experience, be able to work closely with business product owners, partners in Infrastructure and with Third Party vendors.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Implement, and test through unit, integration, acceptance and regression user stories.
  • Identify technical change requirements in collaboration with the agile squad to propose solutions for agile stories.
  • Identify high level requirements and then drive out /derive detail of the lower level requirements via applicable methods (stakeholder engagement, workshops, data analysis), and support the development of business and technical solutions to meet.
  • Provide stakeholders and other colleagues with clear and accurate information on current and future system processes and architecture.
  • Undertake diagnostic work to understand specific business issues or problems in greater depth and reveal possible solutions.
  • Actively participate as a agile squad member to move tasks forward, support colleagues with impediments and ensure that we generate value for our customers and the business.
  • Skills: Java JDK 17+, React 18, REST (Open Api), Unit, Integration and Acceptance Testing and associated libraries, TDD software development practices, Spring Boot, Spring Modules and Gradle, Gitlab and Prompt Engineering.

Some other highly valued skills include:

  • Cloud Platform experience in particular with AWS or Open shift.
  • JS and or TS experience utilising React.
  • Gradle (ideally within a Kotlin DSL), Docker.
  • CICD automation experience (Bitbucket, Jenkins, SonarQube, Nexus Repo).
  • Container Orchestration strategies (Kubernetes).
  • Data Message Platforms (Apache Kafka).
  • Data Analytics Platforms and Tools(Spark, Elastic Search).

The successful candidate will be based in Pune.

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
