To be successful as a Big Data Ab Initio Engineer, you should have experience with:
Core Ab Initio Skills
GDE (graphs, XFR, plans, PSETs, DQE)
EME (versioning, branching, tagging)
Conduct‑IT / Control Center
Continuous Flows, PDL, metadata‑driven design
Big Data Skills
Hadoop Ecosystem: HDFS, Hive, Yarn, MapReduce basics
Optional/Good to Have:
Spark (PySpark/Scala)
HBase
Kafka streaming interfaces
Strong knowledge of distributed computing concepts (partitions, parallelism, memory tuning)
Databases & Languages
SQL (HiveQL, Teradata, Oracle)
Unix/Linux shell scripting
Python (preferred but optional)
Tools & Scheduling
Autosys / Tivoli / Control‑M
Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins (CI/CD exposure)

This role is based out of Pune.
Purpose of the role
To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.
