Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

The role is for a Senior Business Analyst role on a major programme of change to deliver a Target Operating Model for an internal ratings based (AIRB) approach to credit risk management of the Private Bank mortgage book. The Senior Business Analyst will:
•    Define the scope of changes within a major regulatory programme
•    Formalise system requirements working closely with the Data and Technology teams on the programme
•    Work with Architects & Business teams to define the best strategic solutions
•    Co-ordinate across business & control functions on supporting analysis, requirements and implementation
•    Be accountable for defining Business Outcomes and the scope of these on a project by project basis, adjusting to suit jurisdictional requirements, client impact, compliance, controls and quality
•    Be responsible for the scoping, prioritisation and detailed business requirements on behalf of the project while understanding the impact on the wider business environment
•    Establish strong relationships across technology and business areas 
•    Be a highly disciplined analyst and organiser who is adept at delivering at pace within an agile POD (Product Oriented Delivery) team, maintaining flexibility whilst maintaining high rigour at delivering to Barclays standards, processes and strategies
•    Focus on the detail but also understand and shape the strategic direction which will be the key to success

What will you be doing?

•    You will work in a small team of Business Analysts to define the strategic technology and data requirements to enable the Private Bank Credit business to comply with AIRB regulation
•    You will be a Private Banking Credit Technology expert whom the business trusts to realise their aspirations as to how they can best drive their business forward 
•    You will ensure that business requirements are aligned to technology delivery and that where decisions are made that relevant stakeholders are in full agreement
•    You will support the Project Manager and Programme Manager to provide the necessary updates to senior management and senior stakeholders


What we’re looking for:

•    Must have an extremely high attention to detail and quality of delivery
•    Overall should be confident, enthusiastic and proactive
•    Must be able to communicate effectively with other project team members, including technology, business and compliance teams at all levels, gauging the level of technical knowledge of the audience in these communications
•    The successful candidate will be able to interact with stakeholders at multiple levels within Barclays. It is important that the candidate has the necessary personal skills to be able to conduct themselves appropriately and gain the trust of senior stakeholders
•    Must be able to understand complex analytical problems and use their experience, good judgement, knowledge of alternative options, and innovative thought to contribute to the resolution.
•    Have an inquisitive nature; able to work independently to take a problem, break it down, recognise additional questions and find solutions
•    Highly organised, structured and result driven
•    Ability to escalate issue to management as appropriate
•    A proven track record in delivering business and functional requirements within technology change working on a variety of relevant technical programmes


•    Degree or equivalent in an IT or Business Analysis related discipline
•    Experience of working in large scale change programmes 
•    Knowledge of agile processes with a view on how to maximise success


Skills that will help you in the role:

•    Strong Financial industry knowledge including Credit Risk and/or regulatory implementations
•    Demonstrable experience in a Business Analyst role with strong evidence of both technology and business change delivery
•    Strong evidence of stakeholder management
•    Strong evidence of business analysis techniques - including requirements gathering and documentation for Target Operating Models, user stories, process flows and data analysis
