Hybrid Working

Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Introduction:

The Portfolio Demand Manager role is focused on supporting CDS and its Demand Management team, which sits beside the Project Management office as a part of the overall CDS Portfolio Office. 

This involves various activities related to the management of demand and work requests that arise for CDS’s services. Such demand arises from sources internally to CDS and from other areas of the Corporate Bank. Activities include but are not limited to: Supporting and helping coordinate mid-term planning (MTP) for future years; Supporting and managing requests raised against current year’s interlocked demand (current year’s MTP); Tracking financial and capacity interlocks; Managing funding movements and change tracking; Tracking spend; Tracking capacity vs doability vs forecasts; Tracking front door activities; Reporting and MI provision; Dealing with queries regarding demand and funding; Coordinating stakeholder engagements; Overseeing dashboard creation and maintenance; Data quality monitoring; Process governance (incl. SLAs, work request dormancy; work request (EO & PWR) approval processes; Training provision, etc.

What will you be doing?

•    Collaborate in close partnership with UK counterpart(s) within the global Demand Management Team
•    Ongoing maintenance of the MTP PWR Tracker to track and report on work requests, associated funding interlock movements, financial spend, prioritisations, deferral of demand, etc. against the current year’s demand (current year’s MTP) – includes Single Order Book (SOB) extracts, OBN validation/verification, and data analysis
•    Deal promptly and effectively with queries regarding demand, funding interlock, spend, work requests (PWR) and other related aspects regarding current year’s demand (current year’s MTP)
•    Help run, support and contribute to monthly stakeholder engagement meetings (e.g. TC Connects, etc.)
•    Escalate risks and issues regarding the portfolio promptly and effectively with the relevant parties to help minimise portfolio exposure 
•    Collaborate closely with Demand Management team and key stakeholders internal and external to CDS to support and help coordinate the MTP process for future years’ demand – this involves tracking the MTP as it evolves and iterates through various stages of maturity toward sign-off and baselining 
•    Track and maintain views of the portfolio in terms of doability vs forecasts
•    Track and report on front door activities and housekeeping (e.g. Engagements Online governance, PWR SLAs and dormancy, PWR approval processing, etc
•    Reporting and MI provision built on effective oversight of dashboard creation and maintenance of high standards of data quality
•    Provision of training to CDS team members on processes and procedures


What we’re looking for:

•    Advanced Excel skills underpinned by a robust understanding of how to analyse financial and project data underpinned by a keen eye for detail and ability / instinct to intuit & address data anomalies.
•    Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to write & present a range of materials (e.g. presentations, reports, etc.) and to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels. 
•    Strong interest in reporting, excellent presentation skills and an eye for detail coupled with strong PowerPoint knowledge and presentation skills, balanced by sound stakeholder management.
•    Sound experience of the project management lifecycle and the governance aspects thereof.

•    Experience and interest in tracking financial data coupled with experience of developing / managing data reporting would be advantageous, 
•    Strong analytical skills, ability to understand complex issues and quickly absorb information, and conceptual and creative problem-solving excellence with a background in Financial Services desirable.
•    Good understanding of system development life cycle, project management and system implementation lifecycle methodologies.
•    Knowledge in program/project management, and delivery and implementation of large technology solutions.

•    Demonstrable ability to challenge effectively and assertively in order to drive key outcomes and accountability in collaboration with the CDS change leads, counter-balanced by a self-motivated, analytical and results-focused outlook, underpinned by strong problem-solving, an ability to assimilate and analyse data, monitor progress, and negotiate / implement resolutions.
•    Ability to meet/exceed targets and work under pressure coupled with the ability to balance competing needs and interests.
