Explore locationJoin us as an Engineering Manager at Barclays where you will lead the design, development and delivery of modern, scalable and resilient enterprise platforms. You will drive engineering excellence across the software development lifecycle, leveraging cloud-native technologies, modern architecture patterns and emerging AI capabilities to deliver innovative digital solutions that create business value and enhance customer outcomes.
To be successful as an Engineering Manager, you should have experience with:
Deep hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs and Microservices Architecture
Strong expertise in designing and delivering large-scale enterprise applications and distributed systems
Experience leading engineering teams and delivering complex programmes in Agile environments
Strong knowledge of cloud-native development, CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices and container platforms (Docker/Kubernetes/OpenShift)
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Experience with Kafka, MQ, event streaming and asynchronous messaging platforms
Knowledge of GenAI technologies, LLM integrations, prompt engineering and AI-assisted development tools
Experience with AI/Agentic frameworks, vector databases and retrieval patterns
Experience in financial services, platform engineering, developer experience tooling and modern observability frameworks
