Join us as a Senior Data Modeller at Barclays, where you will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of location strategy projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. To be successful as a Senior Data Modeller you should have experience with:

  • Cloud platform expertise (AWS)

AWS Data services - Proficiency with AWS data related services such as S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, Lambda  Cloud Architecture Design - Designing cloud-native data architectures, optimizing cost and performance on AWS

  • Data modelling and architecture

Strong understanding of data modelling - relational, dimensional Expertise in designing data lakes, data warehouses and real-time processing pipelines Ability to create scalable and high performing architectures across on-prem and cloud environments.

  • Big data technologies

In-depth knowledge of Hadoop and its related tools Experience in integrating Hadoop with cloud native technologies

  • Data warehousing & Analytics

Teradata - Deep understanding of architecture , performance tuning and large scale data integration Snowflake - Expertise in building and managing data pipelines, data models and optimizing performance

  • ETL processes

Proficiency in designing, optimizing and orchestrating ETL workflows Ability to implement data integration strategies across multiple heterogenous systems.

  • SQL/scripting

Advanced SQL skills for querying and   optimizing large datasets Experience in Python/Pyspark or other scripting languages for data transformation, automation and orchestration.

  • Advanced cloud services - familiarity with other services and exposure to multi-cloud or hybrid cloud architectures.

This role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To design, implement, and maintain conceptual, Logical and Physical data models that meet business data/process and technology requirements, by using designs and data strategies across a wide selection of platforms. 

Accountabilities

  • Analysis and documentation of business requirements to translate them into data models aligned with organisational goals.

  • Development and maintenance of data dictionaries and glossaries to define data elements and their usage.

  • Analysis and monitoring of data usage patterns to identify opportunities for data optimisation and improvement, in partnership with the Data Base Administrator.

  • Strategic architecture definition and product selection.

  • Production of logical designs in relevant subject area (technical, data, operational), showing for example: processes, objects, data flows, inputs, stored data and outputs. Identifying common components.

  • Implementation of architectures and Identification, ownership and resolution of design related issues.

  • Definition and documentation of data architectures standards, principles and strategies.
