AVP, Cloud Automation and Virtualization

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks AVP, Cloud Automation and Virtualization in Whippany, NJ:

• Design, develop, and maintain automation solutions for provisioning, configuring, and managing infrastructure services.

• Leverage Python for custom scripting to automate repetitive tasks and integrate with various infrastructure tools and APIs.

• Utilize vRealize Automation (vRA) to develop workflows and blueprints for automated service delivery in virtualized environments.

• Implement Ansible playbooks for configuration management, orchestration, and the automation of infrastructure deployment and operational tasks.

• Collaborate with DevOps, cloud infrastructure, and operations teams to streamline processes and deliver efficient infrastructure-as-code (IaC) solutions.

• Monitor, maintain, and enhance existing automation solutions to improve performance and reliability.

• Troubleshoot automation-related issues and provide operational support for automated infrastructure environments.

• Document processes, scripts, workflows, and infrastructure designs to ensure operational continuity and team collaboration.

• May telecommute pursuant to company policies (hybrid role).

Minimum Salary: $189,592.00 per year

Maximum Salary: $208,551.20 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
