What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp seeks Middleware Engineer/Developer in Whippany, New Jersey (multiple positions available):

On behalf of a global financial services organization, serve as Platform Reliability Engineer within Barclays Container Platform (BCP) team, responsible for building products like OpenShift, Ansible, AppViewX, Prometheus, Wily. Support application deployment, testing, Run The Bank and Build The Bank teams by managing Cloud platforms delivery, software/product upgrades, platform builds and design, patching, operating system maintenance, risk and compliance of platform, vulnerability management, reporting and infrastructure maintenance. Develop and engineer (architecture, design, build, script, document and test) bank wide private cloud systems in production environment. Configure, develop and test system components using support scripts, tools and technologies, such as Red Hat OpenShift v3 and v4, Docker, Kubernetes, CHEF, Jenkins, Python, GO Lang, Cloud technologies like Amazon Web Services and Barclays Container Platform. Conduct PaaS (Platform as a Service) design and work on DevOps projects to create Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery pipelines for Barclays Container Platform. Design and develop robust large-scale solutions with Agile project management methodology including Scrum using tools like JIRA and Confluence. Evaluate innovative technologies and identify potential benefits to Barclays. Analyze potential use against existing solutions within Barclays and alternative solutions within the marketplace. Recommend use of components and toolsets by assessing technical robustness, comparing with other options, and ensuring there is a business benefit in implementation. Participate in the handover process, including training of users and maintaining an interest and knowledge of new innovations in BCP technologies. Create comprehensive and clear documentation of architecture, designs, deliverables, and work as part of the Agile team to estimate and manage progress of all required work tasks. Provide fourth-line of support for private cloud engineered solutions for the applications hosted in BCP. Handle site reliability engineering tasks and platform reliability engineering tasks for Barclays global internal cloud operations.

What we’re looking for:

Employers will accept: 

A Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications Engineering Technology or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, IT Analyst or related position. 

Alternately, employers will accept: 

An Associate’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Telecommunications Engineering Technology or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer, IT Analyst or related position.
