You will define technical strategy, empower high‑performing engineering teams, and embed security‑by‑design and zero‑trust principles to safeguard our customers, colleagues, and partners. Production Network Engineering sits within the Network Product Design & Engineering organization at Barclays. You will oversee the design, build, and operation of strategic network infrastructure platforms and connectivity services. Within this mission‑aligned model, Network Security Engineering plays a pivotal role in providing enterprise‑grade security capabilities across on‑premises, hybrid, and cloud environments—advancing our Network Modernization efforts and supporting our broader product‑centric transformation.
To be successful as a Network Security Engineering Manager, you should have experience with:
Proven experience leading and managing network security engineering teams delivering enterprise scale solutions across domains such as firewalls, intrusion detection systems, proxy services, remote access, network access control (NAC), and network segmentation
Considerable technical depth in network security engineering, with the ability to provide hands-on technical direction, design oversight, and delivery leadership in multi-faceted, regulated environments
Experience driving automation and reliability improvements using DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, configuration management, and Infrastructure as Code to improve delivery predictability and operational resilience
Deep understanding of network security policies, standards, and technical baselines, with accountability for consistent implementation across environments
Demonstrated ability to partner effectively across infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and service teams to deliver integrated outcomes and safely execute complex change
Other highly valued skills include:
Ample knowledge of technology risk management, regulatory compliance, and incident response within large, regulated environments
Experience enhancing operational metrics, reporting, and governance to support audit and control obligations
Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CCNP Security, AWS or Azure Security, or equivalent, considered an advantage
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in this role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is located in our Whippany, New Jersey office.
Minimum Salary: $170,000
Maximum Salary: $230,000
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

This position is eligible for an incentive award.
