What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Senior Application Developer in Whippany, New Jersey (multiple positions). 

  • Lead the UI design, development and delivery of various regulatory and mandatory growth initiatives in an Agile operating model within Risk, Finance and Treasury (RFT).
  • Build reusable code and libraries, ensuring code written meets the predefined company and department standards.
  • Design and develop REST API’s to work with the UI application to support the various business functionalities.
  • Identify dependencies, changes in infrastructure and suggest improvements by working with Tech Leads, RTB and DevOps.
  • Provide support during System Integration Testing (SIT), Quality Assurance (QA) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) test phases.
  • Collaborate with the Product Owners and Scrum Master in prioritizing the Sprint backlog and contributing to the Product backlog grooming.
  • Work closely with the Team Product Owner to ensure non-functional requirements, technical debt work items are appropriately prioritized.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed, performance and scalability and support regression testing.
  • Configure hand ins and develop functionality to support the configuration template.
  • Develop generic and custom validations for validating offline control templates.
  • May telecommute.

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
