Join Barclays as a Scrum Master. You will be responsible for supporting the successful delivery of projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. You will act as a servant leader and facilitator, ensuring Agile principles are embedded across technical and functional workflows. This role requires strong technical awareness of API/ Spring boot Java deliveries & the release process. The Scrum Master will enable team efficiency, remove impediments, and foster continuous improvement along with managing tech delivery of the feature team.

To be successful in this role you should have:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM). 

  • Strong understanding of Agile frameworks and tools (Jira, Confluence). 

  • Technical awareness of authentication systems, APIs, and CI/CD pipelines. 

  • Awareness of data and writing SQL/ JQL queries.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and conflict resolution skills. 

  • Act as Technical Delivery Managers for release readiness, ensuring sprint deliverables align with deployment timelines.

  • Support integration testing and quality assurance by coordinating with SDETs and developers. 

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives) ensuring they are productive and time-boxed.

  • Maintain backlog health in collaboration with Product Owner and Tech Leads.

  • Represent the team in governance forums, providing updates on risks, dependencies, and progress. 

Some other highly valued skills include:

  • Prior experience in Spring boot or Android or iOS focused Agile teams.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and release management coordination.

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
