Join us as a "Liquid Financing- Desk Support Analyst" at Barclays. The role holder needs to make sure they act as an extension of the desk and help the desk with daily reporting, analytics around P&L generation, book management by resolving loss making trades or any other P&L slippages with complete ownership. The role holder would also have to create tactical analytical tools to help the desk make informed decisions on a daily basis and support their daily/monthly processes.

To be successful as a "Liquid Financing- Desk Support Analyst", you should have experience with:

Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

* Looking for candidates who have understanding of Equities and derivatives products (Derivative and Equity Swaps)

* SQL (Intermediate Level), Qlikview (Mandatory).

* Advanced Excel (Mandatory), VBA (Beginner to intermediate Level)

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

*This role involves someone who works very closely with traders, resolving their queries, looking into execution of trades, running reports and analytics, product development etc.

*Good to Have skills- Python (beginner level)

*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Engineering Graduate in Computer Science /IT, MBA preferred
  • Required knowledge on Database languages like SQL with an expert understanding of databases, Programming Languages such as Python. Preferred Knowledge of BI tools like Qlikview, Tableau, Spotfire or Power BI.
  • Comprehensive knowledge on Financing products like Securities Lending, Equity Swaps, Prime Brokerage platform, Equity Financing.
  • Highly analytical and numerate with exceptional problem-solving abilities. o Should be able to understand/ structure complex flows in business resulting in P&L loss or risks.
  • Well-organised with good time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines and prioritise tasks.
  • Able to work effectively as part of a large team.
  • Able to multi-task and prioritise accordingly in a highly pressurised environment.
  • Willing to take on responsibility.
  • Confident in dealing with groups outside of immediate team (Sales, Trading, Product Control, Credit, Legal).
  • Ability to build, maintain and enhance relationships at all levels including interacting effectively with other key areas within the bank e.g. IT, MO, FO, Ops Control.
  • Detailed and meticulous, consistently delivering a high level of accuracy and attention to detail with high quality output.

This role will be based out of Mumbai

Purpose of the role

To maintain the smooth and efficient operation of our trading desks, providing operational support and expertise to traders, sales professionals, and other key stakeholders, helping them maximize their productivity and minimize disruptions and handling administrative tasks, and providing market information and research. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of immediate and efficient technical support to traders and sales professionals on the trading desks, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure uninterrupted trading activities.
  • Coordination of trade execution by liaising with traders, clients, and other internal teams to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Maintenance and updating of trade records, transaction logs, and client databases accurately.
  • Reports, presentations, and documentation preparation to support sales and trading activities.
  • Monitoring of market data and assist in the analysis of financial information for trading decisions.
  • Operational tasks such as processing trades, confirming orders, and resolving trade discrepancies.
