What will you be doing?

Barclays Capital Inc. seeks Vice President, Capital Optimization in New York, NY (multiple positions available):

  • Work with Securitized Products and Cross Markets business areas to optimize financial resource consumption (LBS, RWA), drive efficiencies and manage within respective targets and limits.

  • Utilize statistical and quantitative techniques to interpret and analyze big data sets.

  • Use strategic thinking and analytical skills to turn data into actionable information to prepare for regulatory changes (e.g. FRTB); influence product development; and improve risk, capital and profitability assessments.

  • Work on any critical ad-hoc requests that impact the firm and business.

  • Support the economic funding function including analysis of drivers of unsecured funding requirements, coordination with Treasury to support forecasts and MTP planning.

  • Work with Sales & Trading Teams, to educate them about drivers of financial resource consumption and collectively identify and execute on optimizations.

  • Update and report to both team and senior management periodically on financial resource consumption.

  • May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $198,000 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $250,000 per year

Purpose of the role

To manage, optimise and control financial resources and portfolio-wide services with a view to building a true competitive advantage. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and implementation of strategies to optimise the allocation and utilisation of financial resources, maximising returns while ensuring compliance with group targets and regulatory requirements.
  • Financial analysis, including risk assessments and scenario planning, to support decision-making and resource allocation.
  • Collaboration with business stakeholders to develop financial plans, budgets and forecasts aligned with organisational objectives.
  • Monitoring and assessment of financial resource consumption against established benchmarks and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Identification and mitigation of financial risks through the implementation of risk management strategies and controls.
