Explore locationIn this Investment Banking Compliance VP role, you will act as a key member of the Investment Banking Business Oversight Compliance Team within Barclays Europe. The team provides day to day Compliance advisory services to the Investment Banking Division (Coverage/M&A and Capital Markets) of Barclays Corporate and International Bank.
You will contribute to the development and implementation compliance policies and standards and ensure the effective implementation of compliance policies and procedures. You will monitor and test compliance frameworks, review products and transactions, and conduct reviews as needed.
To be successful as an Investment Banking Compliance VP, candidate should demonstrate :
Track record of experience in Compliance within an Investment Bank
Alternatively, experience at VP level within a law firm or in the Legal/Compliance departments of an investment bank
In-depth knowledge of the EU regulatory environment, with particular expertise in the Market Abuse Regulation and MiFID II
Fluent written and spoken French and English language skills are essential
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Demonstrated ability to develop strong relationships with senior stakeholders across European jurisdictions
Academic credentials: University degree or equivalent
Relevant professional qualifications such as compliance, legal, or accountancy, with a preference for those recognised in the EU
This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role will be based in Paris.
Purpose of the role
To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in a compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities.
