Join us as a Data Analyst at Barclays, responsible for supporting the successful delivery of Location Strategy projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. To be successful as a Data Analyst you should have experience with:

  • Working with Product Owners, Lead Data Analysts, and business SMEs to develop high level design docs and process flows into detailed technical requirements
  • Strong SAS software experience performing ad-hoc analysis and BAU reporting with minimum 2 years hands-on experience
  • Well-versed hands-on experience in data analysis or data focused Tech BA role
  • Technical analysis of data migration projects covering database & table level details, reconciliation, and SAS process migrations
  • Creating & maintaining Data Dictionaries, Metadata, Data Lineage, API Catalogues, and interface inventories
  • Exposure to create data mappings
  • Understanding of data platform capabilities like data ingestion (ETL vs CDC), data lake, data warehouse, data marts, data science
  • Strong SQL query writing abilities for small to medium complexity requirements
  • Working with large datasets on data extraction, cleaning, analysis, and presentation
  • Understanding and implementing Barclays Data Management Standards (GDMS) and LCP compliance
  • Knowledge of Apache Spark, Databricks and AWS cloud services
  • Python programming for data analysis, automation, and scripting
  • Tableau or other data visualization tools (Power BI, Qlik, etc.) for creating interactive dashboards and reports

Some other highly valued skills may include:

  • SAS Certified Base and/or Advanced Programmer certifications
  • Hands-on experience in data streaming, ETL, data quality, data reconciliation, data processing, data warehousing preferably on AWS
  • Experience in batch and real-time warehousing
  • Advanced Python libraries experience (Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Seaborn) for data manipulation and visualization
  • PySpark for distributed data processing and big data analytics
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Data Engineering)
  • Advanced Tableau/Power BI skills including calculated fields, parameters, and dashboard optimization
  • Banking and financial services exposure specifically in fraud detection
  • Demonstrated experience working with and influencing senior business stakeholders
  • Experience working in large matrix organizations
  • Ability to work independently with minimum guidance and shape abstract situations
  • Flexibility to overlap with US, UK and India time zones on a need basis
  • Superior drive for results with ability to juggle priorities, multi-task and execute flawlessly at speed

This role is based out of Pune.

Purpose of the role

To implement data quality process and procedures, ensuring that data is reliable and trustworthy, then extract actionable insights from it to help the organisation improve its operation, and optimise resources. 

Accountabilities

  • Investigation and analysis of data issues related to quality, lineage, controls, and authoritative source identification.
  • Execution of data cleansing and transformation tasks to prepare data for analysis.
  • Designing and building data pipelines to automate data movement and processing.
  • Development and application of advanced analytical techniques, including machine learning and AI, to solve complex business problems.
  • Documentation of data quality findings and recommendations for improvement.
