Hybrid Working 
Structured hybrid role:    
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please note that as we continue to embed our hybrid working environment, we remain in a test and learn phase, which means that working arrangements may be subject to change on reasonable notice to ensure we meet the needs of our business.

Introduction 
•    As an Engineering Manager you drive great execution across the Transaction Cycle, working across teams to enable delivery and remove blockers when they arise. 
•    You own and develop our engineering ways of working, including delivery approach, cloud principals and DevOps best practice. 
•    You develop a high quality change and release management playbook and update our processes as required.
•    You ensure our engineering teams are consistently improving, using metrics to improve quality and set KPIs and meaningful engineering objectives to ensure quality across the portfolio and contribute to the growth of our next generation of engineers.
•    You ensure consistency and coherence of the technology and toolsets used by our teams deliver meaningful progress against our technology transformation agendas.


What will you be doing?
•    Lead a team of highly skilled engineers delivering key platform services for the Corporate Bank. The role owner will be responsible for the definition and delivery of our engineering transformation agenda, including Agile, Release Management and DevOps best practice.
•    Evangelise adoption of our new cloud- and container- based platform and services and coach teams and Engineering Leads on how to migrate successfully.
•    Use metrics to manage and track our engineering teams’ progress.
•    Provide line management and leadership to the core engineering team, supporting the team’s growth and continued focus on our DE&I agenda.
•    Support the growth of the team through provide training and coaching for our Engineering Leads for the adoption of new tools, technologies and ways of working.
•    Review and provide updates to our Change and Release Management processes.

What we’re looking for:
•    Solid understanding of Agile Delivery Methodologies
•    Solid understanding of DevOps and software quality metrics
•    Experience of managing engineering teams  
•    Solid understanding of Change Management Lifecycle

Skills that will help you in the role:
•    Exposure to AWS Cloud Architecture principals and best practice
•    Project Management/PMO experience
