Hybrid Working
Structured hybrid role:
At Barclays, we offer a hybrid working experience that blends the positives of working alongside colleagues at our onsite locations, together with working from home.  We have a structured approach where colleagues work at an onsite location on fixed, ‘anchor’, days of the week, for a minimum of two days a week or more, as set by the business area (or nearest equivalent if working part-time hours). Please discuss the working pattern requirements for the role you are applying for with the hiring manager. Introduction
Corporate Bank (CB) has one Important Business Service: ‘Make a Payment – electronic’. The Impact Tolerance threshold for Intolerable Harm is defined at 24hrs, inferring that, in the event that Barclays lost the ability to process payments through its regular BAU (technology) environment, the firm can quickly switch core payment processing of critical payments & to vulnerable clients to an alternative solution/provider
•    A combination of technology, operations and third-party solutions may be used to meet the regulatory commitment, however the complexity & demands of the ‘Make a Payment’ IBS will place heavy reliance on a Technology solution
•    Your role would be involved in all technical deliverables including, but not limited to, component recovery testing for all applications in test remit. This role would also evolve to own and implement all self-serve tasks for configurations that are managed by SMEs currently for the new technology.
•    Your role will take primary responsibility for technical deliverables for component and scaled testing. This would require active collaboration with ATR PM, ATR Engineering Lead, ATR Test Manager, component teams amongst other GTIS functions.
•    You will work in partnership with Business/Product to refine the ‘Intolerable Harm’ scope and define risk and complexity.
•    Actively contribute to the knowledge base and find new innovative solutions to make the overall cycle leaner and simpler.
•    Work collaboratively with other Project Managers and stakeholders to deliver programme outcomes and deliverables.

What will you be doing?
•    Understand new technology, implementation, risks, risk mitigation to create a technical plan and author technical documentation for the teams across Barclays to benefit from.
•    To manage Execution Risk effectively, deliver on our Group strategy and satisfy all our stakeholders, we must deliver our initiatives consistently and transparently.
•    Apply processes, methods, knowledge, skills and experience to manage risk and ensure project outcomes are delivered in line with expectations.
•    Taking responsibility for successful delivery in line with the relevant Policies and Standards by keeping a focus on outcomes; defining, monitoring and regularly reviewing the overall plan; ensuring benefits and outcomes are captured and validated throughout the project
•    Being responsible for governance and oversight –  provide the framework for implementation, working with the ATR Engineering Lead and ATR Test manager (where relevant) to support governance forum that is fit for purpose and facilitate the continuous review and approval of key delivery documents
•    Acting in partnership with the ATR Engineering Lead and ATR Test Manager (where relevant), using their experience and insight to help engage senior leaders, maintain a focus on delivering outcomes, remove blockers and resolve risks and issues and deploy appropriate governance and oversight of delivery (including the Project and/or Programme Forum)
•    Assisting the ATR Project Manager(s) for managing and planning of workforce and financial requirements.
•    Work with stakeholders across impacted businesses to lead the delivery of business readiness activities.
•    Creating an environment of effective delivery by empowering the delivery team, leveraging their knowledge and expertise, learning lessons from past delivery, and by allocating work across the team in a way that makes the most of their skills while maintaining a focus on outcomes.
•    Active involvement in all technical meetings/conversations between applications teams, GTIS (Infrastructure team) , EaaS (Environment as a Service team) and CTO (Chief Technology Office).

What we’re looking for:
•    Infrastructure understanding covering Unix filesystem and clustering, Storage (SAN, NAS) setup/config, Database (Oracle and MSSQL) setup and configuration, VMware, aPaaS (Docker+Kubernetes)
•    Ability to understand and create Infrastructure/architecture sketch with good understanding of security, monitoring and alerting tools.
•    Ability to grasp new technology, troubleshoot and manoeuvre.
•    Consistent record/experience of successfully delivering large scale projects
•    Ability to master and navigate new subject domains quickly
