Step into the role of the Head of Financial Crime Advisory (Know Your-Client (KYC)) where you will lead the team, focusing on providing advisory support across business units to ensure that they remain compliant with Standards, Policies and Procedures relating to Anti-Money Laundering, with a specific focus on KYC.  This role involves supporting business units across BBPLC with clear direction and advice relating to KYC requirements, building strong relationships across the three lines-of-defence to promote a strong risk management culture and supporting change programs - promoting continuous improvement, and ensuring effective stakeholder management. The role requires strong knowledge of global regulatory expectation relating to Anti-Money Laundering with a focus on KYC

To be successful as a Head of Financial Crime Advisory (KYC), you should have experience with:

  • Subject matter expertise in Anti-Money Laundering with a strong understanding of global regulatory expectations and requirements relating to KYC
  • Experience of providing advisory support, ensuring a consistent quality and alignment of advice provided
  • Contributing to global change programs relating to financial crime, with a focus on KYC change
  • Strategic mindset and ability to translate high level requirements into practical, proportionate advice
  • Experience of working in a global organizational environment
  • Understanding of risk and control frameworks
  • First class written and oral communication skills
  • Be comfortable in fast moving and complex environments and be able to move effortlessly between strategic topics to day-to-day requirements

Purpose of the role

To provide data-led expert oversight and check and challenge on business and compliance matters to evidence that the organisation is operating in a compliance with Barclays legal, regulatory and ethical responsibilities. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and assessment of compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, changes, processes, testing and systems to.
  • Identification and investigation of potential market abuse, including but not limited to, Insider Dealing, Unlawful Disclosure, Market Manipulation or Anti-Competitive Conduct.
  • Conduct investigation of compliance risk events or breaches. Oversight and check and challenge of corrective actions and preventative measures to avoid future occurrences.
  • Implementation of compliance policies and procedures in line with regulatory requirements and ensuring that the bank’s internal policies are aligned with international standards, including jurisdictional requirements.
  • Collaboration with 1LOD, other relevant Compliance teams and legal, and relevant risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to compliance and risk management.
  • Identification, investigation and oversight of potential money laundering, terrorist financing or other financial crime.
