To be successful as a Retail Technology - Technical Analyst you should have experience with:

  • This Customer Service & Accreditation role acts as the first or second contact point to provide a first class service through guidance and continual liaison during the customer’s development, testing and implementation activities thereby ensuring compliance.
  • The role holder will be responsible for reviewing customer technical test results and signing off solution as acceptable to connect to Barclays Payments live systems. Any training required will of course be provided.
  • This role “Buddies” with and provides direct support for the BA4 Implementation Managers who will help co-ordinate and prioritize workloads.

Customer Support/Implementation 40%

  • Act as a reference point for Customer queries.
  • Identify requirements and propose solutions within BPA and Industry policies.
  • Ensure the customer / 3rd Party Supplier has all appropriate technical specifications, access to test systems and access to test tools.
  • Provide support as required by Technical POS Implementation Manager.
  • Provide technical support for BPA Sales & Relationship Managers.

Technical Data Review 40%

  • The job holder must undertake a review of customer testing results providing feedback via Risks & Issues logs.
  • Perform on-site testing at customer or supplier’s premises as required (Typically 1-5 days a year – Post COVID 19).
  • Use and interpret appropriate test tools such as Tandem, Mainframe, SmartSpy, ICC Solutions Test Tool & MTIP Generation.
  • Review live data to ensure successful implementation.

Planning / Project Management 10%

  • Advise customers and their suppliers of the overall activities required and their specific responsibilities.
  • Develop and maintain implementation plans from templates.
  • Identify and co-ordinate resolution of any risks or issues.
  • Co-ordinate the activities of all parties internal and external to achieve a successful implementation.
  • Maintain internal project records and paperwork in a timely manner and utilise project management disciplines.

Maintaining Knowledge 10%

  • The job holder must collect and interpret information from a variety of sources and disseminate it to internal and external forum.
  • In order to correctly identify solutions, the job holder must be aware of BPA current capabilities, policies and service offerings.  Although the BPA account manager will take offering forward the job holder must be able to help the customer and account manager determine the correct solution.
  • Have the ability to keep up to date with new test tools and adapt to new working practices quickly and efficiently.
  • Acquiring processes and best practices are continually evolving.  The job holder must input to and adapt with that evolution.

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
