Join us as a Technical Product Owner at Barclays, responsible for supporting the successful delivery of Location Strategy projects to plan, budget, agreed quality and governance standards. To be successful Technical Product Owner you should have experience with:

  • Leading cross-functional teams to deliver digital products or features from concept to launch
  • Collaborating with technology, Design, UX research, operations and business stakeholders to define and prioritize product backlogs
  • Translating customer insights and business objectives into actionable Features, User stories and acceptance criteria
  • Chasing different digital metrices to understand the impact of the feature on banks Net returns as well enhancing customer experience.
  • Making sure competitive analysis and UX research is done for every feature.
  • Experience with process tools like MS Visio, Draw.io, JIRA, Confluence, Figma
  • Proficiency in creating detailed functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria
  • Ability to engage with engineering teams and understand APIs, architecture, and integration patterns.
  • Ability to define and maintain product roadmaps, write clear and actionable user stories, and translate complex requirements into deliverable features.
  • Strong analytical background with experience using data to inform product strategy and prioritization.
  • Skilled in working with design, compliance, operations, and third-party vendors to deliver cohesive, customer-centric payment experiences

Some other highly valued skills may include: 

  • Cards domain specifically Co-branded credit card domain expertise and understanding E2E flows, industry standards, and evolving technologies such as open banking, digital wallets, real-time payments and relevant regulations like PSD2.
  • Experience in the financial services or banking sector, especially in digital transformation initiatives
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance considerations in consumer banking products
  • Certified in Scaled Agile (e.g., SAFe), with a track record of leading agile teams, facilitating ceremonies, and driving iterative delivery in a fast-paced environment.

This role is based in Pune.

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
