This is an exciting opportunity to join Barclays in Market Post Trade Technology team as one experienced Project Manager / Business Analyst . Market Post Trade objective is to standardize Barclays Global Market Operations processes, execute the regulatory agenda, strengthen the control environment and support the executions of the infrastructure services strategy, including collaboration and hosting initiatives. In this role, you will work in Japan, one of the most complex service centre with many specialized teams onshore to support the full trade lifecycle. And you will also work with Front, Middle and Back office users as well as local & global technology teams, managing requirement analysis and responsible for all deliveries covering business growth initiatives, regulatory mandates, control enhancement and operations support work. In this role, you will gain experience a wider range of different financial products and front-to-back flow. We are working together to design and contribute bright future for Market Post Trade.

To be successful in the role, you must have :

1. Prior experience as a PM/BA with strong knowledge of how projects are run and managed in both waterfall and agile based environments.
2. Experience working on multiple asset classes (FX, Rates, Equities, Prime, FIF etc.) with knowledge across different post trade processes like settlements, reporting, asset servicing, trade validation, confirmations etc.
3. Bilingual in English and Japanese to communicate with business stake holders, other IT teams and external vendors.
4. Understanding of the local market, processes and regulations within Japan including domestic settlement and reporting infrastructure and requirements.
5. Must be a self-starter who is comfortable working in a very dynamic environment, with rapidly changing priorities and under little supervision.
6. Soft skillset on influence, documentation, communication and leadership.

Purpose of the role

To support the organisation, achieve its strategic objectives by the identification of business requirements and solutions that address business problems and opportunities. 

Accountabilities

  • Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
  • Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
  • Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
  • Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
  • Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
  • Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
  • Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
