Barclays Services Corp seeks Assistant VP, Systems Administration in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):
1. Prevent and resolve incidents in the Barclays' UNIX infrastructure.
2. Administer, test, and implement various scale change within the UNIX environment and databases.
3. Monitor UNIX environment, coordinate system development, and determine project scope and limitations.
4. Specify users, develop software guidelines, review database procedures, and monitor database performance.
5. Modify existing UNIX infrastructure and management systems to transform UNIX function.
6. Review project requests from users, estimate time and cost required.
7. Partner with fellow UNIX engineers to develop automation tooling, methods for product integration, incident review, and customize servers for bank clients using OpenStack, OpenShift, and RedHat.
8. Analyze user access related tasks and queries, train users, and provide technical support for clients.
9. Plan, coordinate, and implement security measures to safeguard information against accidental or unauthorized damage, modification, or disclosure.
10. Analyze, test, troubleshoot, and evaluate existing cloud networks for Barclays’ Application Platform as a Service (aPaaS) Cloud team within the Private Cloud and Middleware group.
11. May telecommute.
Salary Minimum: $159,087 per year
Salary Maximum: $160,000 per year
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.
This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.
Purpose of the role
To effectively monitor and maintain the bank’s critical technology infrastructure and resolve more complex technical issues, whilst minimising disruption to operations.
