What will you be doing?

Barclays Services LLC seeks Senior Java Developer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

  • Design, code, and test the most complex software components for new or enhanced IT systems to a high level of quality, producing appropriate documentation.

  • Design, develop and productionize applications; write continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines; gather business requirements; conduct stakeholder management; work on end-to-end full stack development and deployment of the applications.

  • Design, develop, and code scripts for automation testing.

  • Build APIs and application products in order to enable to integrate natively with endpoints as a form of Banking as a Service; define minimum controls or checks that must be completed prior to the on-boarding of Partners/Third Party Developers.

  • Drive software architecture, high-and-low level designs towards asynchronous, functional, reactive systems using extensive experience in building highly scalable, concurrent, large volume, event-driven systems.

  • Employ agile techniques, i.e. task estimation, test automation, deployment automation, continuous integration and knowledge of software best practices such as Test Driven Development, Behavior Driven Development and extreme programming to enhance overall execution speed and product quality.

  • Ensure successful continuous integration, delivery and quality control through automation; drive innovation in test automation strategy and methodology; ensure the highest quality of test coverage, automation, risk assessment, governance and quality assurance for all technology initiatives and deliverables.

  • Lead software development projects efficiently and execute business critical requirements.

  • Support incident and problem management for production environments.

  • Perform lead root cause analysis; capture information on technology related; and suggest process improvements.

  • Utilize knowledge of Java, Java Platform Enterprise Edition (J2EE), JavaScript (Angular, React JS), RESTful Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Spring Boot, Spring Data, Hibernate, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), Oracle and Mongo DB to develop an enterprise of high-volume web applications.

  • Analyze user needs and business requirements to determine feasibility of design and cost constraints.

  • Research new technologies and identify best practices to provide technical guidance to other team members, and present; demonstrate to users, stakeholders, and technology groups.

  • Determine system performance standards and develop high performing distributed web applications.

  • Develop and direct software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

  • Monitor and track software applications using management tools such as JIRA, and Agile practices such as SCRUM.

  • Utilize knowledge of Computer Network, Software Engineering and Database Engineering to design and work on the implementation of infrastructure required to build applications and distributed containers.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $179,982 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $197,980 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
