Corporate Data team within Barclays is embarking on an ambitious journey to transform the business into a highly data driven organization. At the core of this is our Data lake house being built out using technologies like Snowflake and Databricks, which will bring all analytical data into a single repository. This role will drive the design and architecture of the capability, enabling the data teams across Barclays corporate banking to adopt the benefits from the approach.
To be successful as a Data Lakehouse Enablement Lead - VP, you should:
Have experience in architecting Databricks or Snowflake data platforms.
Have hands-on as an engineering leader and can guide a team through complex issues.
Have financial services experience.
Have extensive experience building on AWS Cloud (ideally certified at associate level).
Have experience of working in a Scaled Agile way of working.

Purpose of the role
To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.
Accountabilities
- Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
- Design and implementation of data warehoused and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
- Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
- Collaboration with data scientist to build and deploy machine learning models.
