What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Developer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

1. Develop, create, and modify computer applications software and programs based on an analysis of user needs.

2. Work to design and develop software solutions and customize software with the aim of optimizing operational efficiency.

3. Design and innovate software products and new applications and systems using the newest technologies and work with various business areas to understand and meet their needs.

4. Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Modify existing software to correct errors, allow it to adapt to new hardware, and/or to improve its performance.

5. Optimize systems and applications and perform analysis to improve processes.

6. Develop intuitive user interfaces for applications.

7. Install, test, and maintain the existing and new systems.

8. Involve with software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

9. Install software system and monitor equipment functioning to ensure specifications are met.

10. Analyze and design databases within an application area, and store, retrieve, and manipulate data for analysis of system capabilities and requirements.

11. Collaborate with systems analysts, engineers, programmers and others to design systems and to obtain information on technical project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.

12. May telecommute.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
