Platform Engineer

What will you be doing?

Barclays Services LLC seeks Platform Engineer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

1.    Responsible for driving complex and major computer application incidents to resolution by owning the e2e (end-to-end) incident.
2.    Deliver production-grade code with excellent quality.
3.    Deliver solutions within a DevOps environment with a relentless focus on automation of testing and deployment.
4.    Recognize, select and apply appropriate design patterns, frameworks according to business benefit, maintainability, delivery priorities and constrains.
5.    Maintain agreed standards applicable to the work undertaken and ensure that mandatory standards and architectures are aligned.
6.    Create and refactor programs in accordance with the design, following relevant code management procedures and applying agreed coding standards.
7.    Produce Product Technical Incident Post Mortem (“TIPM”) documents for major incidents.
8.    Create, update, and maintain known errors scenario document.
9.    Review test strategy, test cases, and test results and provide inputs from an RtB point of view.
10.    Contribute to in OAT and Resilience Testing and Defining non-functional requirements for new projects.
11.    May telecommute.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $136,000 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $142,500 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any another type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
