What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Project Manager in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

• Conduct project, product and program management for strategic technology initiatives, covering development, testing, architecture, and production management across multiple work streams.
• Take the ownership of global delivery roadmap, product vision, strategy and document project plans, dependencies, and risks.
• Hands-on governance of Agile & Dev Ops best practices; ensure implementation is consistent with sprint planning, scrums, JIRA usage. Optimize delivery pipeline throughout Dev lifecycle. Use of bank-wide tools as appropriate.
• Oversee status reporting, articulation of strategy, and communications with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with trading, operations, and/or product teams, and partner with development teams, first-line support, and vendors with lateral functions such as risk, controls, and compliance.
• Conduct verbal and written communications with multiple levels of stakeholders as well as developers, first line support, and vendors; this will be a regular part of this role as well as interaction with lateral functions such as risk, controls, and compliance.
• Establish standards for delivery and best practices across business and technology.
• Drive delivery and make informed decisions on tradeoffs between tactical and strategic solutions, buy vs build, and resource allocation.
• Create discussion points into short and long-term actionable plans.
• Innovate Product features and automate the governance processes.
• Use cases creation chalking out all primary and alternative user decisions and system behavior.
• Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
• May telecommute.

This position is eligible for incentives pursuant to Barclays Employee Referral Program.

Salary / Rate Minimum/yr: $161,000 per year

Salary / Rate Maximum/yr: $170,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget and quality requirements. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of the delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and the execution of sprints.
  • Collaboration with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
  • Collaboration with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the banks objectives, regulation and security policies.
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
  • Management of change requests and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Management of vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure they deliver according to agreed terms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving deliver outcomes and to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.
