To be successful as a Senior Test Automation Engineer (QA/SDET), you should have:

  • Validated ability to design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks.

  • Considerable knowledge of software testing principles with a clear focus on test automation over manual testing

  • Ample understanding of test automation design patterns, test data management, and reporting

  • Considerable experience with Java programming, Linux/Unix, Gitlab, Maven, Gradle, TestNG, CI/CD pipelines

  • Excellent communication and analytical skills with ability to collaborate with developers to influence quality at code and design level

Other highly valued skills include:

  • Experience with Trading Platforms and FIX protocol highly preferred

  • Demonstrated accountability with debugging unfamiliar systems, writing documentation, and supporting cross-team efforts

  • Experience with performance testing concepts

  • Quality Intelligence (QI) experience or enthusiast

  • Background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience

This role is located in our Whippany, NJ office.

Minimum Salary: $170,000
Maximum Salary: $230,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

  • Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
  • Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
  • Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
