What will you be doing?

Barclays Services Corp. seeks Sr Java Developer, AVP in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

• Develop detailed technical designs and solutions for computer and network software in the trade processing space and implement the solutions.

• Contribute to system architecture and ensure the development is aligned with the strategy and the overall roadmap.

• Work with global teams to implement standards and best practices for software development and ensure compliance to the process including unit testing and continuous integration.

• Use existing investment banking and finance domain knowledge to review requirements from business and operations.

• Provide well-architected technical solution to meet requirements.

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the processes and the system.

• May telecommute pursuant to company policies. [Hybrid role]

Minimum Salary: $160,805 per year

Maximum Salary: $175,000 per year

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop and improve software, utilising various engineering methodologies, that provides business, platform, and technology capabilities for our customers and colleagues. 

Accountabilities

• Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
• Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
• Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
• Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
