Explore locationJoin Barclays as a Network Engineer role, where you are responsible for enhancing existing processes, reporting and controls whilst ensuring the flawless execution of BAU. To be successful in this role, you should have below skills:
Solid hands-on in operating large WAN networks with complex routing, large campus networks and excellent understanding of current age wireless networks.
Solid hands-on Cisco product configuration using IOS, Nexus, ACI, CSP, Firepower
Solid hands-on on the following LAN/WAN Protocols & Technologies: (TCP/IP, Multicast, Ethernet, VPN, MPLS, LSP, EVPN, .1X)
Solid hands-on following routing & switching protocols: (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, vPC)
Hands-on on Enterprise Wireless Technologies, Remote Access VPN, SSL Encryption, DDoS methodology
Hands-on Firewall Platform such as Fortinet, Check Point, Cisco Products and Juniper Netscreen
Working knowledge of various enterprise management, monitoring, and observability platforms such as spectrum, CAPM, Thousand Eyes, NetScout, ESaaS, Netbrain and compliance toolset like Splunk.
Basic Linux shell commands, Python, YAML scripting.
Working knowledge of Cisco NDFC, proxies, load balancers, Infoblox DNS and DHCP will be an added advantage.
Some other highly valued skills may include below:
Networks operations experience in large financial organizations or corporate organizations with global spread
Knowledgeable on change, incident, problem and capacity management framework
Experience on control, risk and compliance framework
Working knowledge and design of multicast enabled LAN/WANs
Knowledge of infrastructure cabling schemes, medias and technologies used.
Understanding of SDN technology
You may be assessed on the key critical skills relevant for success in role, such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen strategic thinking and digital and technology, as well as job-specific technical skills.
This role is based in our Chennai office.
Purpose of the role
To build and maintain infrastructure platforms and products that support applications and data systems, using hardware, software, networks, and cloud computing platforms as required with the aim of ensuring that the infrastructure is reliable, scalable, and secure. Ensure the reliability, availability, and scalability of the systems, platforms, and technology through the application of software engineering techniques, automation, and best practices in incident response.
