Join Barclays as a Project Manager within the Customer Due Diligence Modernisation team, where you'll play a key role in driving change and delivering complex change and transformation initiatives. You will lead the execution of large-scale projects, and support additional initiatives, gaining exposure to a broader portfolio.

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Extensive experience in transformational change delivery.
  • Experience in delivering technical projects, with a clear understanding of technology delivery lifecycles.
  • Strong track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Other highly valued skills include:

  • Background in customer due diligence, onboarding, or financial crime prevention is highly desirable.
  • Exposure to projects related to AI, DevOps, automation, data-driven solutions.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
  • Financial services experience is a plus.

Purpose of the role

Focused on delivering individual projects, ensuring completion within scope, time, and budget with a more immediate focus. 

Accountabilities

  • Scope Management: Manage a single project with specific, defined objectives, deadlines, and deliverables. Their focus is on completing the project on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Strategic Focus: Operate more tactically, focusing on day-to-day management of resources, schedules, and deliverables for their individual project.
  • Time Horizon: Work with a shorter, more defined timeframe as projects have a set beginning and end.
  • Stakeholder Management: Primarily manage stakeholders related to their specific project, ensuring communication and expectations are clear for the project’s deliverables.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Focus on risks and issues specific to their project and works to mitigate them within the project’s scope.
  • Resource Management: Manage resources for their individual project, ensuring that the project team has the necessary skills, tools, and time to complete the work.
  • Financial Management: Focus on managing the budget of their specific project, ensuring it is completed within the financial constraints.
  • Metrics: Measure success based on the timely completion of project deliverables within scope, time, and budget.
  • Change Management: Manage changes that directly impact their specific project, including scope changes, timelines, or resource allocation adjustments.

Vice President Expectations

  • Contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies/procedures.
  • Be a subject matter expert within own discipline and will guide technical direction. They will lead collaborative, multi-year assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will train, guide and coach less experienced specialists and provide information affecting long term profits, organisational risks and strategic decisions.
  • Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
  • Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
  • Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.
