Explore locationAs a Product and Proposition Manager - Financial Assistance, you will part of a team who are accountable for defining, setting, and implementing the strategy for customers that are at risk of or fall into financial difficulties and the performance and control oversight of the Barclays Financial Assistance (BFA) Operation.
Within this role you will be working closely with product SMEs to enable the maintenance of an effective control environment, ensuring compliance with applicable regulation, policies, and frameworks. This includes the co-ordination of comprehensive gap analysis across retail lending products, Credit Cards, Loans, Current Accounts and Mortgages, from early intervention, through to core journeys and inclusive of vulnerability. You will help lead on external engagement for financial assistance matters, both from an industry and regulatory perspective, using market knowledge and data, to provide the check and challenge of the financial assistance strategy and processes. You will help evolve and embed, a consistent, effective governance & control framework, ensuring there are appropriate forums and escalation routes to facilitate performance reviews and decision making, improving the focus on outcomes, risks, and controls.
To be successful as a Product and Proposition Manager - Financial Assistance, you should have:
Strong working knowledge of Collections & Recoveries and Financial Assistance strategy.
Confident in engaging internal and external stakeholders, with the ability to influence those in leadership positions.
Knowledge of unsecured and secured regulatory requirements, and interpreting these against bank policies and strategies.
Proven ability in prioritising workloads to meet challenging and evolving workloads and timelines.
Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills, with the ability to understand and articulate complex information.
Experience in control and governance, including oversight and effectiveness.

This role can be based in Manchester, London (Canary Wharf), Glasgow or Northampton.
Purpose of the role
To manage and develop existing and new products and/or services; and where applicable, ownership of related customer and colleague journeys, develops the product strategy, drive change through Barclays execution teams, make key decisions in the product lifecycle and own associated outcomes for customers, colleagues and the bank, achieved through appropriate service level agreements, regulatory compliance, risk management and controls.
